Project M: Journey

An intriguing trip around the world from the comfort of your own home.

I’ve been seeing a lot of treasure hunts recently, with people across the globe solving puzzles which lead them to real locations where they find their prize. This sounds right up my street, but since it sounds like Scotland will be in lockdown for the foreseeable future, I haven’t been able to scratch that itch.

Enter Project M, who have just released a free game centred on solving location based clues. The correct answers will take you on a trip around the world, but where will you end up? Using Google Maps and Street View, you’ll travel to places like Italy, America and a wonderfully named Yorkshire Hamlet without leaving the comfort of your own bed. (Yes, bed. It’s been a long year…)

I’m the first to admit my navigational skills are terrible, but I really enjoyed wandering the streets keeping my eyes peeled for the cryptic clues which would take me to the next location on my journey.

I learned some fun facts along the way, chose my favourite dish from a restaurant menu and carried out some very enjoyable research into an item I absolutely can’t afford.

Journey is a great first step into the epic world Project M have created with Cold Fusion, and an enjoyable way to spend some time exploring places you’ve never been before – whilst of course solving those all important puzzles.
